SCS KB 1043: Installation failure when downgrading from Cyber Backup/Protect 15

Use Case

Installation fails of older product after removing Cyber Backup/Protect 15, specifically error 1603 in the MSI installation log showing error:

"Error 0x450001: Failed to set named security info of the folder 'C:\ProgramData\alsdb'."

Solution

Rename this folder to alsdb.old and run the installer again.
