SCS KB 1055: Bootable Media Builder Doesn't Launch on Red Hat Enterprise Linux/CentOS 8

Use Case:

Launching the Acronis Bootable Media Builder tool on certain systems running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8(RHEL 8)

Symptoms:

The following error(s) will display:

"Please check the display environment variable" or

"Error: failed to open the display localhost:0.0 

Please, check the DISPLAY environment variable or use the -display option.
Aborted"

Root Cause:

This is by security design in the RHEL/CentOS operating system.

Solution:

Launch the Acronis Bootable Media Builder tool using a user account that is not the root user.
